Science Fair
Hey Sockeyes! You are invited to sign up for the 2012 Sunset Elementary Science Fair! This years event promises to be both interesting and fun, with both student projects and hands-on educational booths from outside groups for all to see.Here is the important information you need to know before registering:
Dates: Thursday, March 29, 6 to 8 pm (grades 1, 3, 5) and Friday, March 30, 6 to 8 pm, (grades K, 2, 4).
Projects: There are no specific theme requirements - you can enter a project on any science-related topic that interests you. Students can do a project individually, with a partner, or in a group.
Awards: All participating students are eligible for a door prize, which will be awarded at each grade level. Projects are not judged, but each participant receives a special scientist certificate and a ribbon. Classes with 100% participation will receive a special award.
Food - If you miss dinner or get hungry during the fair - no problem. There will be pizza and drinks for sale. All proceeds will help support the Science Fair and other PTA activities.
Registration Form and Information Pack: Registration is due by March 2, 2012. After turning in your registration form, you will receive an email link to an information packet that includes guidelines, suggestions, resources and helpful hints about the scientific process and doing science fair projects.
